anyone heard from UToronto?

DS's online file says it is under review. Has anyone heard anything more from UToronto?

no, i applied quite a while back... still nothing... UTorontos my #1... Im stressing out! when are we suppose to be notified?

Hellas176, I sent in my application November first and I heard back about a week ago. There is a guaranteed answer by April 30th, but I believe if you applied by mid December you have a really chance of hearing before that.

I take my last message back! I got in! But they didn't send me an email or anything, I just went online to chek my status out and saw... so spikemom go check regularly...
I am definatly the happiest girl in the world. :) Good luck you guys!

DS was accepted a few weeks ago, was notified via email and then by mail. He is in Victoria College, what is your college?

I got into New College as I had put that as my first choice... I am however seriously considering trying to switch over to Victoria College... What made him choose Victoria above the rest?

When we visited last summer, he liked both University and Victoria. The admissions officer we had met a couple times spoke highly of his own experience at Vic, so he applied there. It has a nice variety of types of housing and even the freshman housing looks attractive. Also, the Vic One program was a plus as well as some of their seminars.

hi =)=)

I just got accepted to New College, U of T in Life Sciences.

congratulations!!

Thanks thanks =)

By the way, im new to this board. Who's "DS"?

So Im deciding whether i should visit Toronto before the school year. My brother even wants me to take some summer courses already!! I dont know if I should though... since it's my last year in high school i was planning on spending my last months with my friends instead =)
Any suggestions?

DS is "dear son" - you'll see folks here referring to their families as DS, DD, DH, etc.
WHen we toured UT last summer, our tour guide was a US student who was in New COllege, and she spoke really highly of her experience there.

Hi, I'm an international who applied to the university of toronto. They received all the required documents on March 13, 2006; yet my application has not been reviewed as yet.

Also, when I check the application status, it clearly says that the documents have been received but in the 'notes' section, they have written- "transcript, predicted grades". However, I definitely sent these materials.

Can anybody please clarify why my app has not been reviewed and why those two documents are mentinoed in the "notes" section?

This is definitely a case where you need to call and sort it out ASAP.

Actually, perhaps they wrote "transcript, predicted grades" as a description of what was provided by your documentation. My notes say: "This document has not yet been examined to determine if it satisfies one of the required documents. It will be reviewed within approximately 6 weeks from the date your application was received." My documents are listed as received (March 10 and March 21). My application hasn't been reviewed yet, though i've exceeded the 6-week mark...likely because of the time it took to receive the above documents.

I got an acceptance to the School of Music recently. Apparently I was "fast tracked" meaning I hear before anyone else. I'm still waiting for my general admissions letter, but I expect to get in since my grades are more than fine to be admitted. Cannot wait to do all that fun housing stuff!

We visited U of T last week and we all (2 sons plus parents) love it...my eldest son is interested in Biomed Eng...can those admitted please give us an idea of their HS stats? I have seen GPA of 3.6, is this weighted ? What is the cut-off for A in your schools? I am asking because of high cut-off in our system >94% to get A and only 0.5 added to AP's , no extra points for Honors. We would be extremely grateful for any tips, thanks!

i got in for arts today with a 90% average-Ontario student. probably going to Queen's though.

Congratulations! We hope to hear similar news next spring. The grading system in our schools is a little complicated. Students are given letter grades which supposedly correspond to certain percentages of scores received for tests, homeworks, quizes etc but every county in each state decides on the range for each letter grade. I know that our county uses one of the highest, if not the highest in the US....90 to 93 is a B+ and > 94% to get an A....80 to 83 is already a C+.......many colleges do not bother to recompute so our students here are really at a big disadvantage. Hence our worry.

all that i know about engineering at U of T is that as a faculty, it is well-renowned and thus difficult to get into. is there any way that you can somehow attach a note informing U of T of your rigorous marking system...?

I think they do compute it. Not to worry davhu1, they know they're not only attracting Canadians.
