I was wondering whether you heard of any successful person who didn't go to a top-tier school....

No, never.

I hope this is a joke thread....

Ronald Reagan
Steve Jobs

among millions of others...

I'm afraid your defn of what a successful person might need to be adjusted. While one of the HYPS schools conferred a BA to me years ago, I can completely attest to the fact that I've known many, many people whom I would gladly work under that don't come from any "named" schools.

This thinking that only good schools= good life, unfortunately, permeates this site.... sigh.

I've heard something like... of the ceo's of the top 50 crporations in the nation, only 7 went to top-tier schools
in fact, the richest guy in OH went to OSU. (he owns abercrombie and fitch and much more)

Oprah Winfrey

are you serious? are you living in a shell? noob

another possible question he might ask; do you become a better person by going to top tier schools?

What is your definition of success? It will depend on how you define success.

pffft .

yea, what???????? Non-top tier and successful.. no way.. i mean come ON!!!

Nah rich people who didn't go to top colleges just got lucky =)

Like Oprah...I could do that too

Warren Buffet - University of Nebraska at Lincoln
Steve Jobs - Reed College
Bill O' Reilly - Marist College
Joyce Carol Oates - Syracuse University

Nope. Who would be crazy enough to actually think that he could become successful without going to Harvard.

Reed College that's top tier

Of course there are no sucessful people who didn't go to top schools! Are you crazy? I mean, we all know 99.9% of Americans are failures. Not to mention the rest of the world...

There are some people suggesting you can be successful without going to a top-tier school?

This is blasphemy! This is madness!

This! Is! CC!!!!!

kick

aisgzdavinci: I'd like to hear your thoughts on the replies you've rec'd...

Reed College that's top tier
Yeah but Jobs never graduated.

You can get a good feel for some schools by checking their famous NON-graduates.
