ANYONE HELP!! Fordham University - do i have a chance? transfer 2010

Hi, I know this is a long thread but i REALLY need help. please take the time to read it and give your opinions.

My dream has always been to go to Fordham. I applied when i was a senior in high school early action and was rejected. I just re-applied as a transfer for spring 2010. My grades and SAT are bad but i think i am one of those "Unique" students that colleges look for. thats why i want to know your opinions.

Im originally italian (real italian not guido). I was born in new York and have a dual passport. my first language is italian and i speak english fluently as well. I went to Italian School in NY until 9th grade and then transfered to international school where i was an IB student with 4 out of possible 4 Higher lever IB classes. This hurt me as the classes were to hard and i ended up not gettin my IB diploma. even though i still get credit for the IB classes taken. So what i did was i got an Italian High school diploma as well. like this fast program. and now i have high school diplomas from both Italy and US plus IB credit.

I ended up going to Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Bocconi in #1 business school in Italy by far and top 5 for sure in all of europe. if that doesn't seem like a big deal, the wall street journal ranked the grad school #17 in the world! I dont know how the hell i got in there but i assume cus i was coming from america and have an Italian back- round. My program at bocconi is all tought an English as well. Its very prestigious and therefore very hard. I am not motivated to be here so my grades are bad here to.

university GPA: 22.2/30 = like a 74

Bocconi also has exchange programs and affiliations with top US schools like harvard, princeton, columbia and surprisingly with Fordham to.

As I said i had applied to fordham before cus i wanted to stay in NY so badly but i got rejected. these were my stats.

High school GPA : 81.2%
SAT: reading 540, math 510, writing 620

So I just re-applied as a transfer. Like i said my grades and SAT suck but I have great EC ( not gonna list them all) like community service, sports, Internships i did all over the world (italy, switzerland, US) and work experience. Plus i even started my own business and wrote about it to Fordham. I have a pretty strong essay and i am a catholic (fordham is a catholic school).

Because I know this is not gonna be enough i am doing the only thing i can do. I have gotten in touch with the international admissions officer who will be reviewing my app. I have called her, E-mailed her a bunch of times, sent her writing samples, asked questions, sent her holiday postcards from Milan and am now writing her a personal letter telling her how badly i want to go to Fordham. It's really passionate and moving in my opinion. Basically anything to show her i really want to be there.

I am a really smart kid and I know i can do well there but that wont get me in.

So recap: im International, come from a very prestigious university school that they are affiliated with, have a great application, essays, strong college recommendations, I have a unique back-round, have IB classes, 2 diplomas from Italy and US, great CV (Internships, work), a lot of impressive EC and i started my own business, im catholic, and the admission officer basically knows me by name. I didnt apply for housing my family lives in NY so i wont be taking up room, It's the second time i apply and im applying for spring with a lot less applicants.

BUT MY GRADES AND SAT'S DONT CUT IT. take a look at my stats again if you forgot. and those a usually the most important factors.

what do you think? do i have any shot?!! would i need a miricle? has anyone heard of or been in a situation like this that ended positively?

thanks.

My friend is applying to Fordham for the Spring 2010 semester as well. As far as I know, they love seeing a student who has applied for a previous semester. Your special characteristics should help you in gaining acceptance considering your academic stats are a little below average for the the school. With that being said, I think you have a 50/50 shot. Make sure your essay is amazing and you take time on the application. Let me know how you make out! - Good luck
