Anyone here applying to Michigan for grad school?

I know that this place is dominated by undergrads, but a few of us waiting on grad decisions might be lurking around.

I'm already a MPH student here and submitted my PhD apps last week (applied to both American Culture and History & Women's Studies). Now the wait begins.

Haven’t applied yet but may be applying soon for MSE.

Thinking of applying this year?

vladen, going back to school already?

Probably. How’s school for you? Where’d you decide to go?

@romanigypsyeyes The History department is wonderful, and I miss it tremendously. I hope you get in; it was such a privilege to study with those professors, even as an undergrad, and I can just imagine how amazing the PhD program would be.

Thanks, Finnlet. Fingers crossed. The person that I hope to work with is in both AmCult and History.

I’m currently in a graduate history class here and I love it. Love the students and the prof. In fact, the prof was one of my LORs

Applying anywhere else? I’m at the ORC now. Classes are killing me lol

It’s supposed to be… You’re with the best in the world over there dude.

Will probably only apply to one school, I don’t expect to have any trouble getting in (I’m only talking Master’s here). I just haven’t decided which school yet. Probably Michigan, Wisconsin, or Minnesota.

Somehow didn’t notice this. Yeah, either for Fall 2015 or Winter 2016.

Focusing on the midwest for any particular reason? You could probably get into Cornell ORIE and/or Columbia IEOR too.

Because that’s where I live. Cornell and Columbia are too expensive and too far away. Tuition is really low at Wisconsin, but at Michigan I’ll have no rent. I figure I’ll most likely live in the Midwest still afterwards, so going outside the area isn’t necessary.

Ah, makes sense. Best of luck with apps.

Once finals are over next week I’ll hopefully have my MS application wrapped up and submitted before Christmas.

Well it looks like I’m in Ann Arbor for another 5+ years.

Congrats! Hopefully I hear back soon.

Best of luck! Do you have a time frame for hearing back?

I was accepted so it looks like I’ll be staying here! Woo!

Not the grad school per se, but my son was admitted to Michigan law school. Deciding between Michigan and Duke.

Congrats, @fatsquirrel ! So happy for you

Congrats to your son, too, 2135ar!

ETA: I’ve already started meeting with faculty and I’m super excited. My boss is going to be my advisor and I already work with the two heads of the certificates I want to earn.

Congrats everyone.
