Anyone Here Attend Nyu

if so, how hard is it to get a 3.5+ gpa for a premed major

if anyone attends, what is your gpa, how much do you work and study

i know at cornell, even top students who study a ton have trouble breaking a 3.0

I'm a student at NYU.

In terms of GPA, it depends entirely on the courses you choose to take. There's no such thing as a pre-med major, there are only pre-med courses in addition to a separate major. The pre-med classes can be difficult, but if you're interested in the material you should do well.

A 3.5 is do-able. It's not a walk in the park but if you plan to attend medical school you should be able to maintain above a 3.5 at NYU. You'll still have time to have fun.

Cornell sounds different.

Well I am not a pre-med but I have a couple of friends who are and they seem pretty comfortable pulling a 3.5+ gpa.

where does everyone go to party at NYU .... fraternities?

I have a lot of pre-med friends, and it really depends on the kind of student you are. They are all intelligent, but there are some who spend 10 hours a day in the library and get 3.3 GPAs, and others who barely study at all and yet make 3.5 GPAs. I had a roommate who was pre-med, she never seemed to study and partied all the time, yet did really well. That's pretty rare though. Most NYU pre-meds live at the library, especially during finals, but if you are planning to go pre-med, you are probably used to working your butt off. It is difficult, though.

As for partying at NYU... frats sometimes host parties at clubs, but there are no official Greek residences. Some of the dorms have Greek floors. Most kids go to clubs and bars, and the Greek scene isn't that big, unless, of course, you are in a frat/sorority.

so basically, a fake ID is a must... or you wont be able to party?

bumpppppppp
