I'm applying to work at American Eagle. What should I wear to the interview? What types of questions do clothing stores ask?

I work in retail. At all the interviews I've been to, they ask basic questions, and those such as "why do you want to work here?" and "what skills do you have," etc.

No way you can really prepare but just show up a little early and dress nicely (I've seen anywhere from jeans and a t-shirt to a full suit, and I went sort of in between with a skirt or slacks and a nice shirt) and act politely, such as thanking the interviewer and having a couple questions ready yourself. Sometimes they ask you if you have questions, and something such as "how does scheduling work?" and "what would my duties include?" is good to know.

Good luck!

I've been working in retail for 3 years. God help me.
Though 2 years of that was video games retail, which isn't too bad.

I've heard that if you want to work in a clothing retail store, it's best if you either wear that brand of clothing or clothing where the brand isn't obvious to the interview. I'm not sure if it's true or not.

I think it would make sense not to walk into an interview for American Eagle with "Abercrombie" written across your chest in big letters, if only because it would show you have common sense. Most stores like that allow you to wear jeans to work and wouldn't be happy to have you blatantly advertising for their competition while on the job.
