Elleya, I think that that proves what I’ve always thought from experience: a good teacher makes or breaks a student’s love for the subject. I always hated science because my science education was terrible in elem, but once I got to high school with teachers who actually knew what they were talking about and how to teach it, I discovered how much I actually liked it.
However, in an exception to my own rule, I’ve always loved English and history even though my classes in those were just as bad as my science classes in elem. Then again, I suppose that’s aptitude.

I so wholeheartedly agree with that statement, Hannahbanana. I had an awful middle school and freshman year experience, but I had those two amazing teachers my sophomore year (history and Spanish), then my amazing English teacher in 11th grade. I really shouldn’t give just them credit, because after 10th grade my whole opinion on school changed. I enjoyed all of my classes and teachers from sophomore year onward, even the somewhat dull ones. It completely changed my view of everything, basically.

I am good with numbers, bad with with words. Math, physics and chem come to me naturally- I feel like they are logical.
However, English, social studies, etc… No matter how hard I work I can’t seem to grasp.

I can relate. I’m also really good at English, and at first I wanted to pursue a career in journalism, or be an author or something, but then I realized that I really love Biology. But that’s not my weakest subject. That titles goes to Math, hence my situation being similar to yours. I work at it, but I never seem to get what other girls get even without trying. When I saw how naturally bad I was at it about 2 years ago, I worked really hard at it and got above 90%, but it doesn’t even compare to the girl who sat around idling and/or skipping all our Math classes and still got a 99. Almost killed me.

I love History so much, and I’m not bad at it, but I’m awful at writing, which is a real disadvantage in such an essay based subject. Also love creative writing
I seem to be the other way round from most people…

History and English are two of my favorite subjects but they’re the ones I don’t get the BEST grades in, which is math. Which I hate. Also Japanese, which is my favorite, but yea.
