<p>im interested in joining the daily bruin as a writer. does anyone have any experience w/ the newspaper? what is it like, and is there a really big time commitment? </p>

<p>its not a class, you dont get credit or anything.</p>

<p>time commitment depends on which department you work for, and how much you are willing to write. The first 4 weeks you have mandatory training… on Saturday mornings, which means you’ll miss 2 (3?) football games. After that, it depends on the editors what they have you do. you probably wont have too much stuff your first quarter.</p>

<p>of course, you have to apply and get in. you should definitely apply though!</p>
