What the title says. Need to find someone who does. And if you do what is your school rank?

Yep. I’m not sure what my school rank is right now, but I’m probably in the top 10.

I play and right now our entire program is a bit jumbled. I’ll end up either 3-4 singles or on 1 doubles. We’ll have to see how the season plays out this spring, but good luck to all.

Okay so like do you think that good tennis players are born or made? Cause like I started this year and I’m not so good. Right now we have practice only every Friday. We divided up into beginners and advanced (newbies and veterans).

I’m the second best beginner which isn’t much at all cause a lot of people suck really badly. I really want to rank high but like I don’t feel as if I even have a chance. I don’t even know how to practice by myself (except my serves).

So do you also have any suggestions on how to practice by yourself?

I bet like a fourth of HSL plays tennis.

Bump please someone answer the bold question.

yeah I play. School rank is 10/218. Tennis is just like any other sport, talent helps, but as long as you constantly practice, progress will be made regardless of your talent level.

If you’re going to practice alone, I recommend just practicing your serves or getting in shape.

I play tennis almost everyday with kids from the top30 in the highest divisions of their respective ages (14-16) from my country (international). I’m a sophomore btw.

Reason i’m not part of the tennis federation here? The kids I practice with practice a total of ~25 hours per week, something that is WAY too unfeasible given the amount of HW I have and the EC’s at school. I can only do around 5 hours per week on business days, seeing as how where I practice is 30 minutes away from home and my school doesn’t have a varsity team.

I cry about this every day :(

1 and co captain of my high school team as a junior. Anyone else here play USTA? If ya do, what’s your rank? I’m 60ish in my section right now, I was 30ish before I aged out of 14s, and I’m so busy this year that I don’t have much time to play tourneys :(.

^I’m #24 in 16s, though it’s Satelite, not Open (not sure if you guys have that or not?).

In New England there is only one ranking system, so I don’t really know what you’re talking about. Are you in Cali? I hear there’s something like that over there. Granted, Cali’s top 50 is probably the same strength as our top 7 lol…

Yep, I’m in Cali. I was wondering if it was just us that used three divisions (Open, Satelite, and Novice), lol.

so once again how do u practice alone?

^ you dont. tennis is a sociable sport.

Tennis is only a sociable sport if you make it sociable. The way I play, it’s not sociable. I don’t stand around and chat while playing, I would be too out of breath to do so anyway. You can’t do too much by yourself, other than work out, practice serves or use a ball machine. You don’t need to have years of training to be good at tennis (although it helps…) but if you are the fittest person on the court and you get every ball back, you can be a pretty good tennis player.

As everyone has said, there’s only so much you can do alone. Just try to perfect your serve when you have no one to play with, and then try to find some people on your team that would be willing to practice with you. If you can’t, then you might have to find a private coach and take lessons. It can get really expensive, but it’s worth it in the long run (if you want to continue playing tennis in the future).

The thing is that most of the people who agreed to practice with me tottally suck
