<p>Is there anyone here who tracks equities? I'm looking for a second opinion before a buy a stock for a competition. </p>

<p>E*trade looks fairly solid.</p>
<p>I'm don't think General Cable would be a good investment, high price/earnings and price/book, I doubt its earnings growth will good enough to support these high prices, but then again I don't know much about the cable industry and am just glancing over its financial ratios.</p>
<p>Perhaps I look worry too much about a chart but here's what I'm getting at.</p>
<p>BGC- MACD about to cross, price still above EMA 50, bollinger bands have a nice spread, and scholastic is showing the stock being oversold. Thus to me, it looks like it can maintain support. Stock has also been up 122% YTD, so obviously this stock can move some money. Capital goods, not "Cable Industry", is going to be doing well. "Earnings in nine of the past 13 quarters have beaten expectations..."</p>
<p>ET- Chart showing positive RSI, nice upward trend in MACD, and price is above 50day EMA. Stock is also moving in a nice upward direction and has pulled 85% in 52 weeks.</p>
<p>To me, based on how I invest, these look like they will maintain a nice upward trend.</p>
<p>i personnaly like the way that etrade looks, and with earnings coming up in mid april it should be a strong buy. This company has always had very strong earnings, I would buy some if it comes back a little bit, I hate buying near a 52 week high, I also dont see this stock as a stock to trade but one to invest in. Long term looks good. JMO</p>
