Anyone in hereford?

Anyone in hereford? Don't know if I should be thrilled or smashing my computer...

well the benefits over gooch/dillard are that it is hall style if you were wanting that, hrm i dunno if there are any other benefits… there is a/c? so that is good. and you stayed there during orientation so you know what it is like. you’ll make the best of that medieval dungeon. at one point there was a large group of first year hereford students who would go out drinking every wednesday to be cool and things like that, i dunno you’ll all make it work.

Thanks hazelorb. Although I don’t know if that drinking part was meant to be funny… I laughed though. I was just wondering how big of an impact are dorms on college life, significant? infinitesimal?

Insiginificant if you have a friend with a good room  You’ll make friends through clubs, where, you know, you’ll actually have something in common (opposed to random hall mates). And it’s ALWAYS better to have friends you don’t live with. I always liked having a separation of my Brown College friends and my clubs friends and so on. I dunno I would always have my clubs friends and classes friends back to my room so they liked that I lived close but I never went to their rooms!! So it didn’t matter at all. HTH
PS the drinking thing was pretty sardonic, but still (un?)fortunately true

I was in Hereford last year, and it was completely fine. People may complain about it being far, but the bus comes right there and it’s like a 7 minute bus ride to central grounds.
Pros? You’re right by Runk Dining Hall which is the best one (and you don’t have to walk far to get to it). You have A/C (DEFINITE plus during the beginning of the year…Old Dorms can be miserable when it’s hot). You also have carpeting which is a minor thing, but nice. You probably have a single room (?) which is actually pretty great. You’re close to the AFC (gym). Everyone else in hereford is in the same boat, so you can bond over that  So yeah, it’s not that bad  Oh and also, some of the buildings have a kitchen in them.

WOW kitchen? Does that mean I can cook anytime I want?? And no I got a double in Norris if that matters much. Hopefully things will turn out right! I was just a little worried because most freshman are not put in hereford (?) Most incoming freshman are either mostly in alderman or Mcormick (sorry for the bad spelling). (70%?)

I wish I was in Hereford

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Norris is one of the ones with a kitchen. And it’s not bad to have a double…the doubles are actually a pretty decent size, or at least the ones in Weedon were. Although most first years are put in Alderman/McCormick, it will be nice to have upperclass friends (i.e. friends with cars who can drive you places) and you meet more first years through clubs/activities/classes etc. than through dorms anyways…or at least that was my experience. It will all work out :)
