I'm finishing up my BA in Sociology at UC Berkeley. I am planning to apply to U of Michigan's MSW program, but I'm thinking about the Social science PhD/MSW option. My fear is that if I apply to the more competitive PhD program I may get rejected, whereas I would have been accepted for the 2yr MSW program. Are you able to get the MSW then apply for the extra 2 yrs of the social science PhD? Any ideas? GPA acceptance stats etc? Thanks!
