Anyone interested in Theme Housing?

It seems like fun! I think I wanna join the Woman in Science and Technology house.

More info:Living Learning Communities: Residence Halls

That’s what I’m going to try for! Haha. Either that or a sober hall so I don’t have to deal with drunks.

I was thinking about that to…but I was wondering if like ex-drunkies join it to keep clean…I donno anyway…

It just depends on which dorm you get in. Some have one but not the other.

What major did you get accepted into? And are you going to UCSB for sure?

I got pre-bio which was my first choice. And I really donno, if I don’t get into UCLA ( small chance!) I will go to UCSB almost 99% sure, just gotta push my dad over to let me.

I’m pre-Computer Science and I’m 99% too (except I don’t need to persuade…my brother went to UCSB and it’s close to home). I’m still waiting on Stanford (but I reallllly doubt I even have a chance there).

Who knows? Maybe we’ll be roomies.

Just look for me around campus XD ask for Muserz.

Theme housing sounds fun! :D

I would probably Women in Science and Technology, Substance-Free (so I don’t have to deal with drinkers also), or Wellness.

I never really understood the point of themed housing. This is college, a time to meet new people. Wouldn’t you want to live with people that are different from you, so you could explore new things?

^You don’t have to be in themed housing if you don’t want to.

Yes, I know  I lived in a general Manzanita building back in 2005 when I transferred to UCSB.

^Yeah I 'm interested in Manzanita.

Did you like it?

I honestly didn’t like it, but my situation was different. I was a new transfer student but I got put into a house that was mostly 2nd year students. These students already had their friends from freshman year and/or were pretty anti-social. I still managed to make friends as well as finding a roommate I really liked for the following year. Still, I feel like it wasn’t as fun as it could have been (although i managed to make new friends in my last year at school and I kinda overloaded on the fun factor my last year).

Since you’re a freshman, they typically put all the freshman together in Manzanita buildings, I think in the Las Encinas quad.
