Anyone just become a CA resident?

I'm transfering from a Ca community college and have gained residency. i just found out that i have to go through a whole different process with la to regain residency. they want me to be financially independent, but how am i supposed to show that i have enough money to support myself? what is the given amount exactly? if any out-of-staters have recently gained residentship in CA please email me at luckyjun127@yahoo.com or message me i really need some help on the steps you took. thanks. any advice is welcome.

Isn't this cheating to get low tuition? I'm sure they want to try to prevent this nowadays. It's not just that you live here, but you have to have housing, property, income, etc...

well i do intend on making ca my permanent residence. its not just for the lower tuition. i plan on living here for a long long time. my situation sucks because during my high school years i was forced to move out of state with my parents. ive always had the intentions on moving back and i have a couple years ago. but since my dad doesnt live in ca with me and im not 24 or older its almost impossible. unless theres a loop hole?

Isn't just living in calif for 1 year and having all cars/property in CA enough to get State Tuition? How can all undergrads be independent??
What was the independent requirement?

i dont know exact numbers but they said enough to survive.. and im not even sure what that is either. if anyone has gone through the process of establishing residency anywhere. please post how and when... thanks i really appreciate this guys...

I think you can be declared financially independent if your parents excluded you from their tax reports two years before. All this stuff's on UC's website somewhere.
