I am looking at RISD, Pratt and Fashion Institute of Technology. My daughter is interested in both graphic design and especially interactive media ( otherwise known as digital media). I know that FIT has a seemingly good program. I am just wondering how good it is.I know that FIT is tops in fashion, but I know little about their other programs. If you or your child has gone there or is a current student at FIt, I would love some feedback.

No one has any info about RIT?

Hi there, I graduated with an associates in fashion design in FIT and now I am returning to finish my bachelors in the same mayor. Personally I love that school besides that is cheap the profesors are terrific! I don't know about the mayor you are asking for, but I can tell you that the school overall is very good, the administration is very good also, and the school provides veriuos activities in which students get involved withing there mayor. Profesors are very knowledgeable and experienced in there fields, they don't take any profesor without extense experience. Hope my opinion helps!!!

Hey there FIT alum.....did you look at Parsons when you were evaluating schools? Did you decide against it due to the cost?

There were 2 reasons: 1. because Parsons gave less draping, patternmaking and other construction classes in which I was interest most. Parsons have a more "artsy" fashion design degree, it is more illustration than other thing, and since I came from an art school I felt that what I needed was more construction techniques. and #2. because it was way too expensive.
