Anyone know about Undergraduate Architecture at Northeastern?

My daughter has narrowed the field to two finalists: Northeastern and MIT. Both have good architecture programs and are in Boston so location isn't a comparison issue. Of course, the $$ difference is big. (25k/year more for MIT as they do not offer merit aid.)

I would love to hear from current students, parents, or alumni. She is struggling with this decision. MIT is a great learning community and it comes with a great name. But NU has such a pragmatic approach to college and we know she'd gain a lot from their co-ops and other real-world experiential learning opportunities.

It's a great problem to have to choose between good programs. She knows she is lucky. She is just stressed out by this huge decision.

The architecture program at northeastern is 5 years with one semester spent studying in Berlin. Don’t know if this makes a difference to her

This might be weird, but if she’s on the Facebook 117th entering class page, there’s a current freshman/future RA who I know chose NEU over MIT. She could possibly contact her?

My daughter started out in the NEU Arch program but ended up switching out after er freshman year just because she decided it wasn’t for her. She chose NEU over other prestigious programs specifically because of the person that runs the program George Thrush. He is teaching them practical architecture so they can be gainfully employed when they graduate…his pragmatic and very interesting philosophy appealed to my D.
