I attended the 3rd Annual Upward Bound/TRIO program for UF. Its mostly geared towards low income and african americans, but I was one of the few asian people there. The admissions officer said it gives me benefits and an edge during the admissions process, and the Outreach program admissions officers themselves would evaluate my application. Does anyone know the exact benefits of being an Upward Bound Attendee?

Most likely you will get in, since you application is reviewed by a different set of admission officers. Who was your RA in Yulee/Reid?, when you did it this summer?

I dont know...but my outreach officer is......Nathaniel Whyte.
I didnt attend during the summer, It was during the school year about a month ago, they asked me to attend a shadow day.

I wasnt a shadower this year. I doubt a shadowee would want to sit through a class of biochemistry and microbiology.

I didnt, we just went around school and ****. but do you know the benefits of the program? Usually geared towards low income.....since I was a recipient of the Doorways Scholarship.

Where you able to figure out the benefits of the program?
@simplydee Last time the OP was on college confidential was in 2007, so I doubt you will receive an answer, maybe you will want to start a new thread if you have a question.
