Just wondering - can it really pay all the way through med school? Great big application and D is so tired.

sorry, I'm not a parent, but I'm curious: are you talking about the Beering scholarship from Purdue?

That's the one. D got the nomination in the mail and it just seems insanely generous if we're reading it correctly.

Best wishes and Good Luck if she decides to apply!

Beering scholarship absolutely pays all the way through med school. I know several people who took advantage of this excellent opportunity. It also covers the equivalent in any other discipline offered by Purdue University. After being honored with the scholarship, I earned an engineering degree followed by a master's in business.

The Beering scholarship has been recognized as one of the most generous academic scholarships anywhere. It is designed to open doors and that is what it did for me. I am very grateful to Purdue and the donors of the scholarship, especially Steven Beering, the founder of the award.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about my experience or the program, although specific details are subject to change from year to year.

Congratulations...I have a friend who won that scholarship...it is one of those rare things that is not too good to be true :)

Well, my D is a finalist -- never been to Indiana or Purdue -- but she's planning to do this one last application over the weekend. Good to hear it really is as generous as the letter describes . . .

mammall - how long was the beering application? Did your daughter interview fr the scholarship?
