Could I win a scholarship with a 35 and a 3.7 UW gpa? I have beter than average EC's and honors and a good essay.

A 35 is a very strong score. My son had a 34, 3.98 GPA, great essay and very strong ECs and did get a merit scholarship. Can’t tell by just stats, but I sure think you have a shot. Have you visited campus?

yes, twice, I was going to apply ED, but I really need to compare aid offers, Grinnell is my first choice though! I have strong-ish EC’s and I’m very confident in my essay and recs.

Well, then I think you have an even better shot. Of course you need to think about FA. My son got only merit aid because he didn’t qualify for need-based aid, but he got a very substantial scholarship; $15,000 per year that did increase as tuition increased. He got it all 4 years. Best wishes–it’s a great school!
