<p>UVa will be moving to the common app this coming fall so those essay prompts will be some of the prompts for UVa. I would start working on those. Generally, the common app prompts are, more or less, the same every year so check what they were last year. The new prompts will be released July 1st. </p>
<p>Due to the emphasis that UVa places upon essays, I’m fairly confident in saying that UVa will have additional essay prompts in their supplement. Admissions has not released essay topics yet.</p>

<p>So the big date you need to wait for is July 1st. Dean J won’t post the topics early on CC if that’s what your hoping. 
My advice: start an essay about something meaningful to you whether it be an activity, a sport, a performance, an accident, something and how it changed you and helped mold you into who you are today. One of the prompts on the Common App is an open prompt (you can put whatever you want there) so the essay that you write could be submitted for this prompt.</p>
