Hey,
I am an American who spent some time in the British School (and took GCSEs), so I understand their educational system. GCSEs and AS/A-Level external examination results are not to be converted to American GPA. Colleges understand that the UK educational system does not calculate GPA and that there is no need to convert British marks to GPA. SInce you are applying to an American university, you will need a transcript. This should just be a record of your GCSE and AS-Level results, as well as your predicted A-Level results, with . You should ask your school to compile and send this for you. You may also need to send official copies of the results as well from the examination boards. Please see this link: http://www.harvard-ukadmissions.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/School-transcript-Profile.pdf
You also might want to take either the SAT or the ACT if that’s still possible. Since you have A-Levels, NYU does not require the SAT or ACT (since A-level results will suffice), However, I think they might appreciate it if you can demonstrate proficiency in the American standardized tests.
Good Luck!
