Anyone know much about transferring to American or Catholic?

I'm in my second year of community college, trying to transfer to AU or Catholic. Basically, I'm just trying to figure out my chances. I would be so grateful if anyone with any knowledge of either school could chance me :) I can even chance back!!

-High school GPA was terrible, therefore I am trying to make up for it in college.
-Criminal Justice major
-3.29 college GPA with 21 credits.
-My nervousness pretty much circles around the fact that I have one "C" and 3 "W's" on my college record. My first year was rough for me as I had a few family issues going on.
-Spring 2011 I am taking 16 credits, and hope to finish the year with a 3.42 cumulative.
-1820 SAT score, 27 ACT (thinking about retaking the SATs)

EC's:
Pretty much all I do is volunteer. I am not involved in any college clubs right now.

So here is the volunteer work:

-Unpaid student intern at my county's police department
-Tutor in a local public housing neighorhood
-"Citizen Patrol" for National Capital Park Police

I am also am in the process of signing up to volunteer with local fire/rescue.

Work experience:
I work part-time at a college working security.

Also, if it matters, I am a white Catholic female in Maryland.

THANK YOU! :)

I think you have a decent chance getting into American University. I am not sure about catholic.

Do you have any schools in mind? You might want to check with the school you are looking at to see what their requirements are, both academically and spiritually.

The only Catholic University I have experience with is Saint Leo University in Florida.
