Major: I really want to double major in International Studies and Political Science or German.

Schools:
University of Wisconsin - Madison
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
Northwestern University
Columbia University in the City of New York
Northern Michigan University
Harvard (Just because I've always wanted to apply there.)

Also, any other recommendations for schools? I'm pretty much set on Madison, Northwestern, or Columbia if I can get in.

Thank you so much!

Anyone?

I’ll chance you as well. :)

I’m not qualified to “chance” people or anything, but for what it’s worth, I think your application is very strong. If you study for your SAT IIs and write good essays, I think you’d be competitive anywhere. I’m not saying you’ll get into Harvard or whatever, but at least there won’t be anything keeping you out. I don’t know if I’m making myself clear.

Anyway. Good luck!

Thank you. :)

Yes, I’m sure any Ivy League school would be a reach, of course. Sometimes, you just have to try your best and then hope for the best!

I’ve already been working on my essays, and my English teachers have been incredibly helpful, so hopefully those will turn out! And as for the SAT IIs, well, hopefully I’ll do well.

Overall, I just want a great college experience. Columbia would be amazing, but Madison and Northwestern seem a bit more my type.

Thanks again!

I’m fairly certain you could get into all of the schools you listed, minus Harvard. But who knows?! There’s always hope, right?

I mean, looking at your stats. WOOW. :)

Good luck!

Wow that’s quite a complement, thanks!

Seeing all the other threads here I thought I didn’t have much of a chance anywhere!

Hey guys!

Just wanted to say I got into Northern Michigan! Not really a surprise because it was my safety, but the nice thing is that if I do decide to attend, I would be guaranteed a full ride for four years of school. :)

Grrr…I envy your statistics! If I were you I wouldn’t even consider NMU because, while it’s a pretty decent, underrated, and relatively high-performing school (for its region/state), it’s far below your league. Northern’s average ACT range is 20-24. You’re at a 34. I daresay that you’d get full rides to Madison and UMn.

University of Wisconsin - Madison : safety
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities : safety
Northwestern University : low reach
Columbia University in the City of New York : reach (for everyone)
Northern Michigan University : beyond safety (well, you already got in so whatevskis)
Harvard (Just because I’ve always wanted to apply there.) : reach (for everyone), but you have a quite decent chance obviously because you have a great resume, and because you’re from Wisconsin, which is an underpopulated state in Harvard and is exactly what Harvard would want. In Harvard terms, you would enhance “geographical diversity”.

Chance me back, please!
