Anyone know of colleges with large class sizes?

The idea of small discussion based classes makes me uncomfortable because I'm quiet, so I was wondering what colleges had mainly large lecture classes and not small classes where you are forced to speak.

I'm a senior in high school looking at colleges preferably on the East Coast or in the Midwest.

My stats:
Weighted GPA: 3.67
ACT: 29

Most schools have large class sizes for the Intro classes. This can be especially true at state schools.

What is your home state?

How much will your parents pay?

You can see if each college’s class schedule on its web site reveals class sizes.

Generally, introductory courses tend to be larger than advanced courses. Also, courses in popular majors, or which are taken by students in many popular majors (e.g. introductory economics, general chemistry, general biology, calculus, introductory computer science) tend to be larger than most courses.

University of Central Florida, especially for popular majors like biology, business, psychology, etc.

There are also online courses if you feel more comfortable using a computer to interact…and have wicked good time management skills.

Most large schools will have big lectures, especially for intro classes. But as you get to the upper levels, classes typically become smaller in size.

Hopefully you will get out of your comfort zone – stretch yourself-involve yourself in discussions. That is a huge part of college.
