Anyone know of people who were accepted by UC's but way later like in April?

How do I post on the UC website? Is there a certain forum to go to?

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-davis/%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-davis/</a> go there, and just make a new post, do something to where it gets the uc davis admissions persons attention so he can answer ur question as best as he can. In my opinion you have nothing to worry about. Yeah I wrote strong essays as well, im majoring in civil engineering. My UC GPA isn't too high as well, but i've seen on this forum that anything is possible. A good thing is that davis increased the admission decision for transfers by 200 seats I believe. So were not being affected by the cut.

Good luck guys!

Ashy, whats your GPA? I just got in as a Psych Major to Irvine.

Gpa 3.24........

Don't worry! I talked to the UCD Representative who went to my CCC during October and she told me that it takes weeks for ALL of the official acceptance e-mails/letters to go out! As for the order, I have no idea how that works out...I'm a TAG student and got my e-mail on the 12th along with many others...butttt

Good luck to everyone! Don't go all chaotic!!!!!

P.S.-For whoever was asking, UC Davis is REALLY picky with the number of units that you have to have completed. The Rep told me that even if I didn't do the TAG, I would have a harder time getting in with less than 60 transf. credits. Hope this helps someone! [: I think GPA is secondary for Transfer students.

^
Do you mean 60 units completed before applying? Or just 60 units completed in general? I'll definitely have done 60 by the end of Spring, but I just hope Admissions doesn't look at my application and go, "Oh, well this applicant has too many outstanding units to complete in the Spring semester; let's not accept." Including my AP scores, I have 32.6 units completely done, and I'm taking 28 units this semester (which I'm positive I'll complete). I just hope my unit amount this semester won't be a deterrent to my admission status...

^
I meant by the time Spring Semester is over. At the time of filling out my TAG, I had 42, but by the end of Spring I'll have well over 75+.

Don't worry about it...!!!

The only thing that strikes me odd is UCD's Admit Day...it's in early April, ***?! By the time THAT happens, Cal STILL won't have their e-mails sent out...-.-;;;

bookjunkie, I'm in the exact same boat! I applied with 45 units, and am finishing about 26 units this semester (only 2 are to finish my IGETC certification, the rest are all art classes which will help out my major).

^
See, that's another reason why I'm worried. Many of my classes are IGETC classes (5 out of the 11), including math -- which I know UCD makes a big deal about. I guess we'll both find out when we find out...

ohh, yeah I know they wanted all the math and english requirements to be done ASAP, but as long as they're done by the end of Spring it should be ok. well, good luck to you!

^
You too! You're an art major, I'm assuming? I don't think that's too much of an impacted field in Davis (I didn't think English was, either, but I've been hearing about a lot of English majors applying). My fingers are crossed...

bookjunkie! As long as you're doing well in your courses, then I shouldn't worry at ALL. I'm taking Stats this semester (the last to complete my IGETC and Req. prep) and that's the most important, as you have said. Just keep working hard, okay? Don't let anything stress you out or else it will affect you. [:

The UCD Admissions response:

Anyone else heard from Davis yet this week?

Hey I have a quick question:
If I didn't do a FAFSA form, will that somehow effect my admission status?

^
...did you forget the deadline or...? The FAFSA is extremely important for your financial aid, but if you don't need any, then I'm sure you'll be fine, just need to tell the school your situation. I do not think it will affect your status because admissions and financial aid are separate departments! [:

^
alright, thank you. yeah, I missed the deadline because I didn't know about it til it was too late..I didn't really mention anything about financial aid in my application, and I think I'll be able to manage the tuition.
Am I supposed to notify the school or something?

^
Regarding admissions...no. They don't handle that type of thing. The only problem I assume would arise is when you're registering for classes. Either you have to pay right at that moment for your classes, or they'll put your account on hold until you do. My roommate freshmen year didn't want any Financial Aid (her family was very well off) but FA still had her complete the FAFSA. But that was for a private school, so I'm not sure.

In any case, I don't think it should affect admissions...but if you're worried, definitely bring it up to the financial aid department!

Best of luck.

Looks like this UCD find-out-your-admission-status thing is going to go into the “way later in April” category…
