Anyone know the best CCC to transfer to UCLA from?

Title speaks from itself. Which California community colege gives me the best chances of transfering into UCLA, assuming I am enrolled in the TAP and honors program?

Compton Community College for sure. A rough area, but a great, prestigious school.

In terms of percentage though, specifically could really help..According to their website Pierce College has never had a student turned away from UCLA...

I don't know any specific CC, but the general agreement that the UC system has with CCs, are if students follow a designed curriculm approved by the UCs then they are guaranteed admission to the nearest UC. This is what has been repeated at every college meeting at my school (San Diego County) and my cousin is currently on this plan(finishing AA degree in May transferring in fall.)It could be complicated in LA, because Irvine, Fullerton, and Merced are nearby. I'd check with the CC you are looking into.

merced is definitely not near by lol... and fullerton isnt a UC

I don't know this firsthand, but I've heard that Santa Monica Community College has a good record of getting its students into UCLA.

santa rosa jc is one of the highest ranked cc's...demanding courses, not at all like high school.

^^ I second SMCC.

SMC is the best

My dad teaches at Moorpark Community College, and the experiences there have been that if you can get into the honors program and keep up a good GPA, UCLA accepts a large number of their students. Pierce and El Camino are also good feeder schools into UCLA. However, the best choice, by far, is Santa Monica City College. To the best of my knowledge, they have the largest acceptance rate into UCLA. However, if for some reason you do not wish to attend there, the other three schools I've mentioned have remarkable acceptance rates into UCLA.

Pasadena City College has a high transfer rate to UCLA

How can Santa Monica have the highest transfer rate to UClA when according to UCLA's transfer website, it gives these stats (in admittance rate):

2002
Mt. SAC, the so called UC Walnut - 37%
Rio Hondo - 45%
Pasadena - 34%
Santa Monica - 39%

2003
Mt. SAC - 49%
Rio Hondo - 45%
Pasadena - 44%
Santa Monica - 48%

2004
Mt. SAC - 41%
Rio Hondo - 51%
Pasadena - 43%
Santa Monica - 44%

2005
Mt. SAC - 45%
Rio Hondo - 44%
Pasadena - 45%
Santa Monica - 46%

If anything, Rio Hondo should be the top ranked! Its transfer rate has been lower than 44% in the past four years! What's up with that?

smc for sure, i know a few who have done it and done it well. i don't have a gpa so i couldn't get into the UC system this year. i'm thinking about going to pico tech aka culver/venice/samo high 13th grade.

I have heard SMC is the best for transferring to UCLA. The reason they claim to be the best for transferring is probably due to the number of students who get in. SMC has 30,000+ students, Rio Hondo has about 20,000. Even though their acceptance RATES are roughly the same, I wonder if more students get accepted from SMC??

S goes to UCLA and SMCC has transfer agreement with UCLA, has a large number of transfer students. Probably alot of students who live in the area and do well in CC, have a decent chance at UCLA.
