Hi, I'm about to finish part 1. However, I wont submit part 1 until the end of September, when I get the application fee waiver from my counselor. I really need to know the essay questions for part 2 of the application in advance so that I can began writing. I know there're a "why columbia" essay in part 2. What other questions do we have?
Thanks

Apart from the “why Columbia” (“What do you find most appealing about Columbia?”) question you mentioned, there’s only one other extended “essay” response, and that’s the personal essay portion of part II. The question is:
“Write an essay which conveys to the reader a sense of who you are. Possible topics may include, but are not limited to, experiences which have shaped your life, the circumstances of your upbringing, your most meaningful intellectual achievement, the way you see the world - the people in it, events great and small, everyday life - or any personal theme which appeals to your imagination. Please remember that we are concerned not only with the substance of your prose but with your writing style as well. We prefer that you limit yourself to approximately 250-500 words (or 1-2 pages).”

Pretty much an open topic. Other than essays they ask you to list books you’ve read and enjoyed (there are separate sections for required reading and books you chose to read on your own) as well as films/exhibits that you’ve enjoyed.

Thank you!

Well, download the paper application PDF. The entire app is in there.
