Anyone know when to expect Yale decisions?

jibbypow...Yeah, the Special Student Program. Thanks for the info..:)
The Special Student Program is traditionally for "non-traditional aged" undergraduate students. They had mentioned to me our (Special Students) decisions came out around the same time as the regular transfers, but who knows.

Helen of Troy
I don't think they would just put you in that pool. I filled out an app, wrote a personal statement, etc., which were specific to the Program for Special Students. They were completely different than the transfer applications.

The following article explains the program pretty well.

http://www.yalealumnimagazine.com/issues/02_03/specials_students.html

That's correct, jibbpow. Special Students have a completely different application form, etc. Plus, we are not competing against the "regular" applicant pool.

Oh, OK...I thought that Yale automatically puts non-traditional people in special programs...like for instance, Mount Holyoke. They will review my application under a Special Non-Traditional Program even though I applied as a regular transfer!

The only bad thing about the program, and it is a major one, is that they provide NO financial aid, whereas traditional transfers have the same opportunity for aid as regular admits.

It really is for working people who are only taking a few classes at a time. (Or are independently wealthy and can finance full-time Yale education)

We still get the Pell Grant and Stafford, but that's why I have to take out an Alternative Loan.

Would any of you mind saying what major you indicated interest in? I said i want to do e.p.e.

Mine was EPE, Ethics, Politics, and Economics.

thomas you have the best of both worlds, in that if you go to penn you can do ppe or wharton. At least you and I are not competing against one another.

If I am not admitted into Yale, I will do PPE at Penn. Trust me, I am not a threat to anyone...lol

thomas, that was not ment as a mean coment in anyway...kuedos to you for playing the game well.

My last comment was just me being silly about this whole application process

Will the decisions be available by e-mail as well? It seems like all the Ivys are doing e-mail notification.

Sangria, i doubt that we will hear by e-mail. the yale application said only talked about mailing to your permanent address.

Yeah, I thought so. The reason I asked was because Dartmouth never said anything about e-mail notification, but they did it.

I listed Literature with the interdisciplinary track in Film Studies as my intended major.

economics/statistics for me

I applied-- and wrote half of my "why Yale?" essay-- for the 'philosophy and mathematics' combined major.

This is reaaaaaally important to me. Rice was looking good-- until I realized that they have NO mathematical logic classes. Then it seemed like a nonoption.

Yale is peeeeeeeeerfect... one of only a handful of colleges who have what I need, and the ONLY one who can give it to me without hassle.

i just got my rejection letter

:( I'm sorry efs. Where do you live? Near CT?
