Anyone looking to transfer this SPRING 2010?

yes vr, you’re right because i actually called chapman today and they gave me that same answer that they don’t know when all the decisions will be out because they’re not even close to reviewing all of them and that it may not matter whether or not you turned in your application early. as long as people turned it in by the deadline of november 1st then they’ll all be reviewed randomly. i called to ask too because i was so confused and nervous of why imprez received an admission decision earlier than i did when i applied 3 weeks before him. that is what they told me though, all the decisions will be made on a rolling basis till december.

VR thats awesome, I want to know if you got in! what is your GPA and when did you apply? It sounds to me like its good news, but I cant be sure?

I told the lady I talked to on the phone today that I needed a decision soon because I had to decide on another school (SMU) by December first. She told me she would pass the message along to the admissions board, and also told me to callback on Monday? She specifically told me that a decision had not been made…So…your right calling really gets you nowhere hahaha

I have a 3.4 and some pretty good volunteer work… We’ll see what happens though, I’m not really thinking about it too much. There’s no way to know until you know.

oh I forgot to say when I applied. My application was sent in 10/05 but I didn’t send in my letter of rec, till probably exactly the 15th.

hmm probably exactly huh? haha just giving you a hard time.

Looks like are apps probably got processed around the same time…God I can’t take this waiting…I’ve been checking my webadvisor every couple of hours today…like it’s really going to change on a saterday haha

Philosophy is my major, so I’m sure there’s not a ton of folks competing for spots in that major. I’m still yet to receive my package in the mail though. Good luck everyone.

JC, haha stop checking! it ain’t gonna change buddy. Back away from webadvisor, lol. Funny thing is, I always have to stop myself from checking on the weekends. I’m like: “It’s not going to change Vincent, so don’t check it, don’t check it.” haha. Yeah, I talk to myself, a lot actually. haha. I’ve pretty much trained myself to check once a day (weekdays) at 5pm, or tried to train myself. Sometimes I check more than once a day. haha

Imprez, let us know how your package and everything goes. Philosophy probably isn’t as competitive as Film, but it’s still a pretty cool major. I’m taking a philosophy class right now and that stuff is pretty intense. I actually am supposed to be writing a paper right now for Philosophy, maybe I should get off of here and get back to it. Congratz again, Chapman is a good school, and it’s rad (does anyone say that word anymore?) that you got in!

“Back away from webadvisor” hahaha your killing me bro.

So I just checked, and Chapman starts classes Feb 1st. According to my calculations, we wont hear back from them until around Christmas… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I’m not liking your calculations. How did you come up with these calculations? Is there some formula I don’t know about haha. I think you may be right tho, I’m assuming we’ll hear mid to late December.

I’ll let you know how the package looks, now I’m wondering what in the world they’re going to offer as far as financial aid. Admissions says they are are following up with f-aid awards within a week, then I can actually commit to the school, and apply for housing!

BTW, where are you guys transferring from?

I don’t think mid to late December is when we will hear back from them. The only reason I say this is because the housing application deadline for spring term is Dec 1, and you can only apply online once you’ve done your SIR (I think). I hope then that we will all hear this week coming, otherwise they are cutting it very close to their own deadline.

Agreed Oscar,

I noticed they would like the housing app in by dec 1. Therefore, it would make sense for them to have decisions complete by then. On the other hand, I’m not sure why admissions is telling people, “we hope to have decisions completed by xmas.” It seems like they like giving decisions on thursdays too for some reason. So hopefully this week is the week.

if it helps… for fall, there was no deadline… it was just on a rolling basis… people from this forum even got accepted after housing deadline so i don’t think that matters…

I know I didn’t get accepted, but last semester, I got rejected 4 months after I applied…

Did you get in to LMU VR? I got my fingers crossed. Please say yes, I need some good news.

JC, I’m so done with LMU. I called today because I saw your post. They said, my application was under review and a decision has not been made. So, yea, if it’s possible I just went back to square 1. I went from almost knowing nothing on Friday to definitely knowing nothing on Monday. Boo on LMU.

Aside from that, any news anyone? Anything at all…

did you…but I thought they…what the f***?! hahaha no news for me. I’m calling LMU and Chapman tommorow. I didn’t have a chance today.

Good luck calling them jcarroll6. I hope they give you some kind of news. If you get the run around, perhaps you should ask them how they plan to deal with the upcoming housing application deadline (DEC 1).

Will do. I am going to demand answers!..(If I don’t wimp out)

haha so I didn’t wimp out, just had not time (again.) I’m in the library now, in a comfy chair, and honestly, I don’t feel like moving. I’ll call tommorow, I promise (for what it’s worth.)

:( first off LMU says “sorry but we are not going to be able to get you a decision the DEC 1st” So in other words, if I even want to see if I got into LMU I have to give up SMU.

:( <<*(for effect) I called Chapman and they are “reviewing applications in the order they received them, and even though a few decisions will be made before DEC 1st, the majority will come after.” (Since I applied on NOV 1st, once again, I’m screwed) They said if by chance we are accepted we will be able to still apply for housing (even though the deadline will most likely be long gone.)
