Anyone NOT applying to the Cal State schools?

My friends tell me that I should apply to CSUN or CSULB as back-ups, but I feel like I worked too hard to go to a Cal State. I don't qualify for the fee waiver so why apply to a Cal State if I have no intention on going? I'm applying to UCLA and UCB, with UCSD (tag) and UCI as my back-ups.

Anyone else feel the same way?

If you have tag, then thats your safety.

if your GPA is over 3.3, there’s no reason you shouldn’t end up at a UC.

I’m not applying to any Cal States as I feel the exact same way SMCguy. My back up schools are UCD(tag) and UCI(tag).

I never applied to CSUs. I only applied to your list of 4 plus Davis.

Don’t do it. Your safety schools are better than the best CSU’s. And I totally agree with you…we’ve worked too damn hard to go to CSU.

I’m not applying to CSU’s either. Plus, I haven’t even taken Speech 101, which is a requirement for CSU’s but not UC’s, LOL!

Ok, I’m glad you guys agree with me! I have a 3.65, tag @ UCSD. I’m not wasting any more $$$

im not applying to any CSU’s either

SMCGuy,

What major are applying to at UCLA? I know you’ve ruled out comm…

I’ve got a 3.778… not putting in all this effort to go to a CSU. Hopefully I can TAG UCSB and UCSD for Fall 2010(need to meet with a counselor this week).

It’s sad though… it doesn’t seem like anyone from my school wants to go to UC’s. I just don’t understand it, it’s so easy to get into a top tier university (i mean 3.0 at JC can TAG you into most of the UC’s… really easy to get) yet very few use the opportunity.

SeeHerFly-

I’m applying to UCLA as a PoliSci. I’ve taken a few pre-reqs and I’ve enjoyed the classes. I’m applying to all other schools as Comm.

Im not applying to any CSU’s. It’s a waste of time. Why take an extra speech class that is not required for UC, to go to a lesser school? If anything UCR could be everyones back-up or “safety”

Im not saying you should apply to a CSU but you should take speech its one of the most valuable classes that I have taken in my undergrad experience.

I took public speaking and interpersonal speech. I agree, good classes!! but still not applying to any CSU’s.

i took public speaking as well…absolutely useless class. learned nothing about comm concepts…only expected to give dumb speeches on even dumber topics.

I might apply to a csu. Good times. I am not too good to apply to a csu. :)

Ewww, I would never apply to a CSU. I’d rather apply to Arizona State before I do that.

I agree with snooks86. If I wanted to go to a CSU, I would’ve went after high school.

LMAO ok I think we’re all on the same page!! Too funny

SeeHerFly- I see your point…for me it helped with confidence, but I hear you!
