anyone not going to UVA after being accepted

??? it will make me feel a little better. congrats on achieving such a feat.

I'm not. I'm going to UNC!

i might not go - what's putting me off is the fact that there are many arrogant kids there.

Much as I love UVA (CLAS 1972) it's not that great a feat to be admitted instate, or with legacy status, as my D was. I talked her into applying so she would have a big name safety school in case her other top choices didn't pan out. She'll really do better at a smaller school, so she's now deciding between Wake Forest & Rhodes.

Congrats to everyone who got in, I hope you enjoy "The University" as much as I did.

Tenniscraze, you should visit UVa. Perhaps doing so will assuage your apprehension. UVa kids are confident, which shouldn't be confused w/ being arrogant.

Oldhoo72, perhaps the feat is not "great" per se, but I know of in-state valedictorians and salutatorians who didn't get into UVa. So, I applaud all those who got into "The University" wherever they come from.

Crichessill, good luck next year!

Im probably not going. Rice and Olin are my top choices, with Harvey Mudd and MIT running behind.

I'm probably not going. Richmond was my first choice with UVA close behind, but I don't think UVA will come close to matching the scholarship or fin. aid package that Richmond is giving me

I'm trying to decide between Virginia and Wake Forest, leaning towards the latter.

I was seriously considering UVA Echols. But I just got into Northwestern, Columbia, Brown, and Yale.

I guess UVa is not really in the running...I'm still going to Echols day though (I live in Charlottesville).

I'm not going. Having lived in Virginia for 18 years, I'm certainly tired of the place. Plus, I was accepted to Engineering, which is not one of the strongest schools in the country. (as for the arrogant students, they all mostly come from the same high school that is near me. It's a magnet school where the students think they're always right, etc. I'm unfortunate to know several people there going to UVa and I do not want to be around them any longer)

Also, I might add that I did not get any Honors (Rodmans or Echols) status. Many of my other schools don't have Honors programs, so I'd rather go where there is no "select group" of people getting "priority registration" and all those other perks.

I'm debating between UChicago, USC, and Rose-Hulman now. Good luck to all you future Cavaliers/Wahoos!

not going... will be at penn or duke next year

i love uva....... but ill be at duke, dartmouth, or amherst next year

redski59...what's the school. Is it Flinthill?

No, I was referring to Thomas Jefferson HSST. It's one of the Governor's magnet schools in Alexandria, VA.

lol, are u one of the 200 who gets accepted each year

My friend got in, but she's going to UNC.

fyi
Over 80% of the students fromThomas Jefferson Get accepted to UVA.
