<p>Does anybody know if UT looks at your second choice major? Like if I get rejected from my first-choice, will they see if they can accept me for my second choice?</p>
<p>I really want to go to UT and now I’m regretting that I applied for geosciences instead of nutrition or education. </p>
<p>Is geosciences a competitive major? I’m not even good at math so thats why I wish I had applied for another major!</p>
<p>We were told they look at your 1st & 2nd choice and if they can’t place you there, but still want you, they will put you in “Undergraduate Studies” (something like that anyway) where you can pursue a general curriculum and transfer to a specific major the following year.</p>
<p>Hey everyone, this is my first post. I am homeschooled which puts me out of the “top 10%”.</p>
<p>Like most people here, I’m dying to know! My high school GPA doesn’t count, but at the end of this semester I’ll have 53 hours of college course work completed. </p>
<p>My SATs were a 2100 (M: 790 CR: 630 W: 690) and a 2170 (M: 740 CR: 670 W: 760).</p>
<p>I have plenty of ECs and I was able to submit 7 recommendation letters from various teachers and professors (some of whom actually teach at UT!)</p>
<p>I hope UT realizes that there are plenty of smart and able students who are not in the top 10% and that they will let everyone in who truly deserves it.</p>
<p>My father spoke with an admissions counselor and she said that they will try to get all decisions out by TOMORROW. Good luck everybody!</p>
<p>did your father happen to specify what major your applying to? and if so, what major?</p>
<p>Yeah i just called and they said the next couple days. and because i’ve been stressing out about it for months i asked the live help desk on their website as well and they said hopefully tomorrow but early next week at the latest. tomorrow is gonna be a longgg day :|</p>
<p>He did not mention my major. (BTW, Business is my first choice followed by Natural Science).</p>
<p>All I know is that he spoke to the counselor that was listed on my login page. (Click on “Be A Longhorn.”</p>
<p>My status just changed to “We’ve received all the items needed to review your application for admission.” Did this happen to anybody else?</p>
<p>Thats the message my friend got probably about 4 or 5 days before he got in</p>

<p>mine has also said the same thing since november</p>
<p>most people didnt catch the change, ive been checking my status daily for awhile now, so i think i know when something changes, but the change was only slight so thats probably why people didnt notice</p>
<p>@mst: I read a cc post a while ago where someone said that that happened to them. One theory was that it could mean you weren’t accepted to your first choice major and your file is waiting to be reviewed by your second choice school? I have no idea if that’s true though…</p>
