Not many posts in the last 24 hours, so my guess is that not many have heard as of Feb 8. Post if you hear something.

Still waiting in Texas!

Not yet. I’ll ask them tomorrow.

No, haven’t got notified by the HS yet. Did they forget to send the Texas letters? I’m just kidding about that, but really. If they were mailed 2/1, where in the heck are they?

At this rate, we’ll get our home letters before the high school ones get handed out!

Son notified by principal in NH on Tuesday.

Still waiting in Alabama. I’m positive we will get the home letter before the school says anything to D. GCs are trying in the next two weeks to get 1400 kids registered for next year so I’m sure the mail is sitting there unopened…

I read through the postings from last year and I have no idea why it takes so long but it seemed like most kids heard between the 8th and the 14th. Many received notice at their home before the school. In this day and age you would think that they could just send them all electronically!

I got notified on Tuesday that I was a finalist at my school in Utah, but my cousin at a different school is still waiting.

S hadn’s heard so I called the guidance counselor on Tuesday. She told me they just received the letter and let me know he was a finalist. Most semi-finalist do become finalists but I was happy for the confirmation as I was worry that as you now do everything on-line, something might have been missed/or not sent in. The counselor called my son down and let him know after my phone call…who knows how long we would have waited to hear if I hadn’t called. (PS, our school does nothing for NMSF’s or NMF’s…no announcements, no press releases, nothing except letting them know they made it.)

Notified by school principal earlier this week in Tennessee.

No word yet for my daughter but based on last year’s experience with my son, the school never bothers to notify (from Missouri). They just get recognized at the end of the schoolyear during the general awards assembly.

S was notified by school yesterday

Received call from principal in Ohio yesterday. Maybe the letters went out in batches.

Talked to my principal today and he has gotten my letter. He said they’ve been busy the last couple of days in and out of school with meetings.

S found out yesterday when someone in his carpool noticed the sign outside school had been changed to congratulate him. This AM, the principal did speak with him privately.

My son received his certificate as a finalist on Monday at school. Most Semifinalists get finalist so not too exciting…he didn’t even bother to tell us…the school emailed me a congratulations…making Semi was the big deal!

DD and her best friend were called to the office during announcements this morning to receive their letters. The school did nothing for semi-finalist but did put their names on the sign in front of the school today. There is also a district awards night later in the spring when they will be recognized. So excited!!!

No news yet in GA! The star student was announced yesterday and D is hoping that tomorrow will be the day.

Congratulations to everyone who has heard! Best wishes for a wonderful freshman year to all your kidos!

^^^

Do you mean that your D’s school announced that a particular student (star student) made NMF, but not the others? Very odd!

What I meant to say is that there are three NMSF in my D’s school, including my D, but finalists have not been announced. The Star Student announcement was made yesterday. Of course, the Star student was one of the 3. I am not aware of any finalists in GA, so D is hoping to either receive a letter in tomorrow’s mail or get called to the principal’s office.
