Anyone on here apply to Williams?

There's always such a small applicant pool for transfers at Williams, so I don't know if anyone who actually applied will even come across this thread, but I thought I'd try. I applied, even though it's a ridiculously long shot. Anyone else out there?

My son applied to Williams and it seems to be his first choice. Long shot.....

I actually did apply to Williams. Just one of 7 elites that I threw darts at.

Yeah it's my first choice too. Did anyone else receive any sort of verification in the mail yet? I got the email a few weeks ago, but nothing in the mail.

williams is also one of my top choices, but after the results ive been getting this week, it doesnt look like admission is probably.

btw: i didnt get any email, but i have been calling to confirm my app.

Yeah I know that my application has been received and everything, because someone from admissions emailed me again to say so. I was just worried because in the initial email, it stated that some sort of verification card would be mailed out shortly. And that was at least two weeks ago. I think I'll call if I don't receive anything by Monday.

I just realized that three weeks from today, decision letters will have been mailed out. I definitely haven't gotten my hopes up, but the thought still makes me nervous.

Oh, and where else did you apply, Jimmy?

One friend got an email from the admissions office saying that they needed something for the application. But there was no mention of a verification card.

Nothing in the mail from Williams- the email my son got said he was missing a rec (getting the recs out of his college TAs was like pulling teeth). That is now in.

i actually was stupid and applied to too many schools, which is why ive been rejected from so many. that along with my subpar stats and the competition of the schools.

anywho, sorry for straying from the question, mostly ivies, williams, amherst, pomona, bowdoin, swat.

i highly regret applying to like.. half of them.

I only applied to one other - Smith College. Those are the only two that I'm really interested in. Smith has an acceptance rate hovering around 50%, so with my stats I think I'm on the safer side (I hope, could be wrong).

And getting those college recs was a struggle here too. Glad that's over with.

I guess not receiving anything in the mail isn't anything to worry about if no one else has gotten anything either. So I feel better about that.

I have one other question. I know that for first year applicants, those from Berkshire County get a little bit of a boost...do you think the same applies for transfers (goes without saying that I'm from Berkshire County)?

bump? (10 char)

Bump...sorry to be bumping two times in a row, I just really am curious to hear some people's opinions on my question in post 11. Thanks!

Since the number of transfers are limited in the first place, I doubt it. But don't quote me on it. It's just a gut reaction.

Has anyone heard from Williams?

nope. but ive called to see if everything is in. I also asked when decisions will be mailed and the lady said they were still reviewing and decisions will be sent "in a few weeks."

That's weird...I got my letter by this time last year. Usually the applicant pool is small enough that the decisions could be made relatively quickly.

that is not a good sign... :(

It says May 31 on the website.

Why isn't that a good sign though?
