Anyone out of state been accepted Jan 10 or later?

Has anyone from out of state been accepted recently? It seems like maybe there is a lull in letters of acceptance going out.

Unless you're stats are exceptional or you applied to honors, you won't hear until March. The ad.com. told me the majority are sent at during the last two weeks of march.

Wait, does applying to honors mean you're ONLY applying to honors(i.e. they won't just say "OK, you can come to UT, but not honors.")? I applied to the honors programs-- but it was more like a "Well, I'll do it for the hell of it" idea(I have a 3.7W GPA(~3.0), and 740M/670CR/660W SATs, so I have a very small shot of getting into the honors programs.) I didn't submit my essays yet(still missing essay B from the main app and the honors app essays), so should I withdraw the honors apps if I don't think I'll get in?

If you applied to an honors program with an early admission date (P2 and BHP are only ones I know of) and were otherwise admissible to the university, you received an admissions letter around 15 December.

Otherwise you will likely need to wait until 15 March or later.

i just applied a few days ago, i'm out of state...any chance of me getting in?

The deadline is February 1, so you will be considered equally with all other OOS applicants.

But we can't tell your chance without a whole lot more data on your part.

All OOS will be made a decision on late March?
Is it true?

I submitted my application yesterday....
I was so afraid that there may have been no available space for me to get in.......

Not really, I'm OOS, applied early Jan (they received all my transcripts only mid-Jan though) and I got my decision a few days ago.

galoisj,

Admissions are not made on a space-available basis. All applicants who apply before Feb. 1 are given equal consideration.

Those out of staters who have already heard back have such impressive stats that the adcom is certain that they would be admitted anyways. But there is not a pre-determined minimum criteria for admission. Once they receive all the applications, they will quantify your academic and personal qualities and graph them, and those in the best positions of the graph will receive offers of admission. However, there are certain areas of the graph that will be accepted every year because they are that impressive, and applicants in these areas may be notified before 1 Feb. depending on when they applied--they might also have to wait until late March as well.

From my experience, UT tends to issue decisions in advance of the latest date. While I received my ND acceptance on December 19, I received my Plan II acceptance on December 10. This is the case for many applicants. So April 1 is the latest date you should hear back, and likely will hear back earlier.
