Mercer Lake was originally created in the early 1980’s. Almost from its inception it was designed for hosting rowing events. It has been the site of many United States National Team Selection events including the 1988, 1992, 2004, 2008 and 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Rowing.

As someone already mentioned, Mercersburg has excellent swimming. It is a good location for you - not too far from Virginia- and manages to be both low-key and challenging. It is a very sane and gracious place and well worth your serious consideration.

The Storm King School has to be an all time best name

I have dropped Storm King School. It has almost 50% international students and also there was a big scandal when a student was raped. The school did not handle it well. Students came out speaking out against the school - just doesn’t seem like the environment I want to be in. I originally looked at it due to location.
