Anyone pass WUSTL first round?

Congratulations to you both!!!!!! :)

i got in too...!!!!

Congratulations! Ahhh, the glory and privilege of an elite private school awaits you.

Yes, I'm unabashedly elitist.

Congratulations to all of you!!

This is strange. I checked the application status site and was given the same message as in post #10. I called WUSL and spoke to an admissions officer, who insisted that they have NOT yet informed RD applicants of acceptance/denial, either on-line or by mail. She saithat d that information would not be available until later this month. I then spoke to one of the application processors, who told me the same thing. While I absolutely believe those of you who say you got the info already, I don't really understand what's going on here.

supposedly the decisions are rolling. i was a bit shocked to see my decision because i applied around feb. 15th. i'm not sure how it is for RD though, but i think that's a whole different thing.

by the way, i just called washu and my decision, at least, is official.

Hindoo: that would be awful if this was some sort of sick joke :D but I don't think it is b/c I spoke with a woman on the phone who said some decisions would be out today. For those that are wondering, the letter is:

Dear ********:

Congratulations! The Committee on Admission is pleased to offer you admission to the College of Arts & Sciences at Washington University for the Fall 2007 semester. The Committee’s decision reflects our regard for your academic and personal achievements to date. We are confident that you have much to contribute to the University community.

You will receive follow-up correspondence from the dean’s office, which will include advising and registration information and the name of your contact person should you have any questions. If you are currently enrolled in classes, please ask the registrar at your current school to forward a final transcript to the appropriate dean’s office at Washington University as soon as those classes have been completed. Please note that your admission is contingent on successful completion of the current semester at your institution.

If you are an applicant for financial assistance, you will receive information from the Office of Student Financial Services after your paperwork is complete in that office. If you have any questions about financial assistance, please call the Office of Student Financial Services at (888) 547-6670 or (314) 935-5900 or e-mail the office at financial@wustl.edu.

We have enclosed an Enrollment Deposit Form with instructions regarding the procedure for responding to our offer of admission. The deadline for the non-refundable $200 enrollment deposit is stated on the enrollment form. If you have applied for financial assistance, your assistance award may provide you with a later response deadline for the enrollment deposit, in which case you may disregard the date on the enclosed enrollment form.

Once again, congratulations on your admission to Washington University. We are fortunate to have established a community of talented, interesting, and able students and we look forward to your joining us.

Sincerely,

Nanette H. Tarbouni,
Director of Admissions

"I was a bit shocked to see my decision because i applied around feb. 15th. i'm not sure how it is for RD though, but i think that's a whole different thing."

I don't understand this, p reepa. The Regular Decision deadline for application was January 15, so if you applied on Feb. 15, you missed the deadline by a full month. Am I missing something here?

Congrats. Is Washington University your first choice?

There is no RD deadline as far I know...applicants could submit their app starting on January 15th, but it is never actually late unless you don't get your stuff in by April 15th. I believe p reepa is more surprised that WashU made a decision so quickly, even after he/she had submitted the app later than many of us hearing about our decisions today.

Worried Student - WashU is an amazing school and there are many things I like about it, but I am also really interested in Wesleyan, which is my first choice as of now. I'll have to visit WashU and Wes (if I get in) to see which is more suitable.

Edit: yes, chamnan - transfers don't have the option of ED at most schools, although a few have EA.

I think p reepa applied as a transfer student; so there is no RD. Am I correct here?

hey Brand_182, when are you planning to visit WashU? I am planning to visit it during my spring break (March 12-15).

I'm hoping to get to visit during spring break as well. Either way, I will put the $200 deposit down now so the option remains.

Keep in mind that putting down a deposit, for some schools, constitutes a binding contract not to put down a deposit at another school.

I GOT IN TOO! Thanks to all to helped edit, advice and specifically brand.

=) Going for a long run now. YES!

Thank you. That is information I need to know. I'll check with them.

Dearsir - YES!!!!!!!!! :D

oh god wait so is hindoo right, did we just get punk'd?

maybe hindoo is a freshman applicant. I have a friend applying out of high school that doesn't expect an answer till much later also. transfers are obviously different. I'm just so happy to not see any rejections!

yeah chanman, i'm a transfer applicant. and i really really doubt we got punk'd, since i confirmed my decision, at least.
