haha chamnan im completely wack- rooming with me would probably scar you for life ~_~ did you sign up for a modern room too?

hahaha...np. I have not decided yet. The prices are suck. Room and board at WUSTL is about the same price as my current tuition at my current school. Now I have to pressure my parents to let me go to WUSTL. I probably sign up for the old dorm to save some money.

So what is the differences between the newer dorms and older ones, besides the age?

i think it's like one is slightly bigger than the other, and their layouts are a bit different...that's it i think.

Man, those dorm price is ridiculou!!!!!!!!!!

I want a triple, and I find the dorm prices to be very reasonable (5,000-5,500), especially compared to those of other schools I'm applying to.

I'm not sure which dorm I would prefer since I don't have the housing info yet. I hope to receive that stuff soon...as of now all of the papers that they've sent are aimed towards someone wanting off-campus housing. They may just assume that I want to live in a university-owned apartment since I will be an incoming junior, but I really want a dorm room.

I prefer a bigger room. So which one is bigger?

Dude...yeah, I have no idea 'bout which dorm I want. My parents want me to select "study in room" but I wanna select "compromise." Hehehehe. I'm so devious!

Um...so all my credits transferred. I'm trying to talk to Greg to get him to allow me to waive my Writing 1 class. I'll be walking as a soph. with 50 hours! =) 16 from fall, 19 from spring and 15 from AP. Yahoo!

Have any of you guys looked at the study abroad? LSE and Oxford, heck yes. What language are y'all guys looking at?

Haha yeah...I was serious in my essay. I look forward to the Summer Language Institute so I can study in France...in which case my language of choice will be French.

That's great about the credits!

hey Brand, a triple is not availible for transfer. The residence life office told me that a triple is for freshmen only

Ahh that's sad. Double it is.

Thanks for the update, chamnan. My dad was thinking that the triple was the best val. for money.

What is each dorm like?

I am going to get the old ones. It cheaper, but there will be six people sharing a common rooom and a bathroom vs. only 4 people in the new dorms. Unlike old dorms, the new ones have elevator.

I would be careful which dorm you pick. You should visit the dorm website and look at the pictures. Some dorms looks appealing while others not so good.

Ah, I keep getting chamnan mixed up with chanman (st. louis on a farm?).

You're the Wharton guy, right?

no, chanMAN is the Wharton guy

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but keep in mind that even if you got a housing form, if things happen like they did last year, you may not get a spot on campus. This happened to me, I ended up being placed in an off-campus apartment building owned by Quadrangle. Though keep your hopes up that the class of 2011 won't be so large!

^^^ that's exactly what I'd heard. Housing on-campus is kinda a biggie for me as I want to become integrated into the community. Have you had trouble making friends since you live off-campus? This is a big advantage that Wesleyan has over WashU (guaranteed dorms)

is housing for us determined after the '11 class comes?

I've actually not had any problems making friends, largely due in part to the excellent transfer orientation! I met so many people during orientation and in classes that I've had no problem. I really hope that you guys get housing though; you might want to consider the Village "Transfer Year and Beyond" BLOC, I've heard it's excellent and that they are looking for residents!

Sweet! if they're looking I'll definitely apply.

yay, i got th okay from my parents for a single!!! Yippy.

Hey imran, I am choosing greg house too. It seems to fit my personality better (I looked at the dorm pics posted online).

hey great! and where'd u see the pictures? I could barely find any of the dorms themselves from washu's resident life page
