Hey congrats to the guys you got in!!

I guess I won't be seeing you brand at UT next year, but I'm glad you got in at WashU after all the waiting you went through over this past year!

To those already accepted, did you guys negotiate something with WUSTL so that you don't have to accept or deny the admission offer until you find out your decisions for other schools?

thanks grandpabuzz - I am still keeping my app at UT, just in case, and I really did like the school when I visited, but I'm very happy that I've been accepted to a great college this early in the game.

WashU lets you put down a $200 enrollment deposit which is non-refundable and non-binding.

imran--(thanks to brand) check out this website theu.com.

Also here is the link to dorm pics

woah thanks a lot chamnan (and brand, indirectly :P ). where else are you guys applying? I remmeber chamnan said Cornell right?

I was going to apply to Cornell, but my sis insisted of me going to WUSTL (She will be a senior next year, and she wants to go to WUSTL too). The other thing is that WUSTL is in the city. Another factor was the guarantee of the dorm. SO i will be attending WUSTL next year.

Man...I feel left out on these boards. I've basically stuck myself on the SAT and AP boards. You know I'M GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY! Unlike you other acceptees who are discussing trivial matters like housing. Pssshhaww. Who do you think you are?

wow dearsiryes, that kinda hurt :(

Just be happy you aren't having to battle the system to get a housing app packet!

True dat, true dat. I wish I heard back from Cornell sooner because now I can't get a hoodie or decal for my NEW CAR or a t shirt for my parents/grandparents. Haha...

Do we get email addresses from them after we turn in our deposit? AND are they on campus this week to process the checks/housing apps we sent them?

yes, I've contacted ResLife and the admissions office today. Classes seem to be the only thing not taking place; you can still go for tours and info sessions during Spring Break.

And I'm not getting a decal/hoodie/goodies until I'm sure that I'm going there. Are you still giving UT any thought?

Oh, and we do get an email once they receive our deposit. Gotta be in by the 16th for most, I believe.

Yeah so I've just been told that upperclassmen do not have the option of on-campus housing. This is a pretty big criterion for me and I would have liked to have known that before applying, though I'm happy to have a good school to fall back on. If I get into Wesleyan, you guys will have to take on WashU without me. I've lost a lot of my love. ;)

upperclassmen do not have the option of on-campus housing.<

is that true for all everybody or just transfers? :/

Transfers only. Students that enter as freshman are guaranteed housing for all 4 years. I really feel like I've been screwed and this has made my decision much easier; now all I need to do is get into Wesleyan.

Not that it's relevant to this discussion, but I wanted to take a moment and make it known that my sister was accepted today at Phillip's Exeter Academy.

Dude, really?

DAMN that's hardcore laneb. Congrats to her.

wow Brand that's horrible! :( im sorry to hear that WashU ruined things for you like that, but I'm sure you'll get into Wesleyan. and do they send the email/other stuff to us via email or through snail mail?

Err I'm not sure. And I'm not sure I'm completely fed up with WashU either, since I have liked everything else. If I can get a spot in the Transfer BLOC (which is still a possibility but I have to wait on underclassmen) or the MillBrook Square Apartments (which are on-campus right across the path from the Village) then I'd still consider it. There's no way I'm living a mile from campus and taking the shuttle. I'll go to UT first.

dearsiryes, brand_182 and chamnan: Did any of you apply to Duke, Rice, or Northwestern? <<<<<<greatest school="" in="" the="" world="" jmho="">>>>>>>>> Northwestern</greatest>
