Anyone planning on doing Summer Session ?

if/when i get my letter im most prolly doing summer session, does anyone here know of any good "prides" or planning on doing summer session too?

If I get accepted, I plan on attending Summer session. My counselor told me that it's a good way to get to know the school without too many other people around.

If I get accepted....

If my daughter decides to go to Penn State, she will probably participate in the LEAP/summer program. It sounds like a good way to ease into PSU. I wonder if they will have the same "pride" groups this summer>

If my son is accepted, I would like him to do the LEAP program, but he isn't too excited about spending his summer in school. I've heard from someone who participated that it was a fantastic way to get acclimated to the school.

i have only heard good things about summer session. yes its a summer away, but it a chance for some credits and at the same time your with a few thousand people your own age and only 2 classes a day. im planning on attending if i have too or not.

I got accepted for Fall 2007. Can I still do the summer session? What do I need to do?

They'd probably be delighted to get you in the cattle car early. Just call Admissions and ask how you can advance your matriculation date. Summer in State College is good and a great time to get a leg up on the herd if you don't need to make $$. Believe me, there'll be more bodies, especially international students, than you'd see @ most colleges on a football Saturday. And if you do need to make some pocket $$, probly some pizza places looking for fresh meat.

Just make sure you can work it in with your HS graduation - you are from New York, right? Kids here in upstate NY do not graduate until late June - don't know if that applies to NY City as well but some of the UP classes begin in May. Although I see that UP has two 6 week summer sessions, so maybe you could do the second one.

Hey...for freshman starting in the summer at UP, they only expect you to register for courses for the second session.

Yeah. My graduation is in late June. I would say around June 27. Is the second summer session the same thing as the LEAP program? If not, what is the difference? Which one should I do?

Nevermind about the LEAP. I want to take ENGL 15 and either ECON 002 or 004. What is the difference between micro- and macro- economics? Which one is easier?

Neither. The 1st summer session will be nearly finished by time you're graduating.

Yeah I know. I want to do the 2nd summer session which starts in early July I think.

How about the second session? Both are available then.
I am a bit leery of the six week session concept but see that instead of having class MWF it is every day.
Don't know which is easier - at least the class sizes are much smaller in the summer so maybe there is a bit more teacher interaction (questions/answers) than just lectures/reading/tests.

Do you know the difference between micro- and macro-? It says it either one can cover my [GS] credit, and I want to get rid of it so I can possibly take another general requirement course during the year. I'm trying to get a lot of the general requirement courses out so I don't have to 18 credits during my final semester because of the co-op program/schedule.

BTW. Is it too late to email admissions that I want to switch from Fall to Summer if I have been accepted for Fall already? I will probably have to email them after New Years though.
