How is it? I have the choice between reading that and Anna Karenina and I wanted some input. Most say Catch-22 is a much better book but I started it and it seems pretty dull. I've got to write a 6-9pg paper on the book of my choice in two weeks so it needs to be something that I'll enjoy or I'll end up cliff-noting it and the paper will be horrible.

catch 22 is the best. book. ever. u found the beginning dull? then you have no sense of humor or are completely misinterpreting it. its hilarious, the standard for a lot of later comedy. read it or die.

Dude, Anna Karenina is one of the longest books that my english teacher gave as an option to read for our essay. Of course I didn't pick it for that sole reason and instead, i'm about to read Catch-22

I loved Catch 22....the end was a bit darker but overall I laughed very hard...and it caused me to think as well. Best required reading I ever did.

I've read both. Catch-22 is pretty good, Yossarian of course is awesome and there are damn funny stories (and I love major major major), but in the end, it's just another anti-war novel to me (much better than Vonnegut though).
Anna Karenina's amazing. It's long, not painfully long at all, I think it made me cry three or four times and scare me away from ever marrying anyone. Oh, yeah, also, at the end, the guy discovers the meaning of life.

We have to read them both by the end of the year, but have the option of which to read right now. I guess I will just continue with Catch-22 and hope that it gets a little more exciting.

i agree with limon for the most part, i actually liked anna karenina more. but its sooooooooooo LONG!! (we had to annotate it over the summer. along with madame bovary, which definitely sucks)

i am obsessed with catch 22
it is SO amazing
the beginning is weird and the first few chapters are a little slow, but after you get past a certain point, you'll be just as obsessed as me ;)
