Anyone Receive a Harvard Likely Letter? {Any Non-Athletes}

You'll be lucky if you get a reply. The number of people who get a non-athletic likely letter from Harvard is super-low.

Isnt it still a little early?

I'm only asking this to see if I have missed the time-frame where Harvard sends them out. I like to be optimistic but won't be disappointed if I don't. Best of luck to all. Thank you if you can give me an answer besides, "You'll be lucky to get one" :=p.

I meant a reply from other people. I wasn't referring to your chances of getting a likely letter yourself. Anyway, I read somewhere (I think it was on the thread about the record number of applicants this year) about someone who already got a likely letter...so apparently Harvard is sending them out already.

Edit: It's token89 on the 3rd page of the thread.

he's an athlete.

Likely letters have been going out (and they are mostly for athletes) October 1st and thereafter in advance of the regular letter of acceptance date of March 31st.

So you're saying that they send likely letters from 10/1 until 3/31? I'm confused.

I'm not an athlete and I haven't received a likely letter :-(

Well there is no point in sending them out around March 31st since the actual formal acceptance letters will be out--but generally--fall (>oct. 1)--and through early spring sometime.

My athlete friend got one back in November. Needless to say, she was ecstatic.

10 bucks says i won't be a likely letter.
(so thus i'd be willing to pay 10 bucks FOR a likely letter ;))

My daughter is a non-athlete and got a phone call on Feb. 19 telling her she is admitted. That was followed by an email confirming the conversation, and a likely letter in the mail a few days later. We are deliriously happy and very proud of her, as you can imagine!

Congrats. I got one from Yale and am waiting for a Harvard although the odds to get both is nearly 0. :)

Congrats to you AY8888! Good luck with the rest of your applications!

congrats AY8888!!! can you post your stats?? i've always dreamed of getting a likely letter...but it's probably too late now =(
when did you get yours from yale? did they call u at school?

Congratulations alchemymom! Could you tell us a little about your daughter's non-athletic accomplishments - are they science-oriented, by any chance?

i got one a while ago - early decemberish.

Aside from academics, her accomplishments are primarily in music/theatre/literature/community service.

Only one non-athletic likely on CC?
I think this needs to be looked at with necessary skepticism when you consider the amount of talent on this site with only 1 non-athletic likely. Considering that there have been about 20 of the 100 Yale likely's on CC alone.
