My daughter was accepted via online portal about a month ago and has not received anything in the mail. Has anyone received anything like a welcome packet or “congratulations” letter? Maybe they dont send one out, or maybe my daughter’s was lost in the mail.
My son got his about a week after decisions were released. We live in Tallahassee though so that’s probably why he was among the first. His envelope contained a letter, window decal, and info about the honors program. Maybe something else, I don’t recall all of it.
Yes my son received a packet a couple weeks ago.
Was your daughter accepted for Fall or was she given a Summer offer? If Summer, she needs to accept the offer before FSU will send anything out. That was the case with my son. So, his letter came in the mail later than it would for the Fall acceptances. Either way, you should call admissions. They are very helpful.
jrmutley yes, she was accepted for summer, but she did not accept the offer, which I assume is binding, correct? The reason I am asking if it is binding is I thought it was strange when it said that it must be accepted by February, which is very early. She has applied to some schools that have notification dates which are definitely later than February.
@momof2ct No…it is a non-binding offer. It should say exactly that on the portal where she checked her acceptance.
@jrmutley I just accepted the summer term offer and im waiting for something to come in the mail. Do you remember it having information about financial aid? I ask because I know some people got their scholarships with the online decision and I didn’t know if that was all they gave out or if there was more opportunities if you accepted the decision.
I don’t think that what he received in the mail had any financial aid info. However, if I recall correctly, when you accept the non-binding offer you are given an FSUID. With that, you can log into your MyFSU account. Your financial aid info should be listed in there. My son just received a small need based grant and an offer for federal student loans that he can accept or not.
