Anyone receive the email ask for more financial aid information?

I am an international student applying for financial aid. I received an email asking for more financial aid information. Is this an indication of acceptance? This email is detailed, and it was wrote to me personally. If the admissions committee decides to reject me, it won’t write this email to me, right?

Dear Jessiejessie,

We are delighted you have applied for Regular Decision admission to Bryn Mawr College!

We are currently reviewing the financial aid applications of all Regular Decision candidates for the Class of 2022 so we may enclose a financial aid award letter in the admission packet of those candidates who will ultimately be admitted by our Admission Office. Our Admission officers will be making their final decisions very soon! All figures are in U.S.dollars (USD).

On the Profile you indicated that your parents will contribute USD $XXXX toward your educational expenses for the 2018-2019 school year if you are admitted. This amount seems high in comparison to their income and assets. Please confirm that this amount is accurate. Do they expect to contribute $XXXX each of your years of enrollment for a total contribution of $XXXXXX? (4 times XXXX)

On the Profile you indicated that you expected to receive $XXXX from relatives or other sources for 2018-2019. Who will contribute these funds? Do you expect to receive this same amount for all four years of enrollment?

We need your help to make sure we correctly understand the information you submitted on your Profile application. Please consult with your parents and provide the information requested below.

Thank you kindly for responding to our request for clarification. Our goal is to understand your application as accurately as possible, and we greatly appreciate your assistance.

If you have any questions about this request, please contact me at this email address or by call 610-526-5245. We will continue processing your application once we receive your response.

Best wishes for success with the admission process!

Regards,

Ethel Desmarais

But the email indicate that they are reviewing all the financial aid applications. Really nervous now.

It’s unclear whether they have accepted you. BMC is need aware, and they commit to providing FA for students they accept. In other words they will want to know whether they have the funds to accept you before accepting. I think they are in that stage of things. If they don’t have the funds, they will no accept you, is my guess.

Hi Jessiejessie,

I’m so happy that you have applied to Bryn Mawr! I’m a current student worker in the BMC admissions office, so hopefully I can answer some of your questions

To address your concern, this email is not indicative of your acceptance or any other application status. It is simply a request for you to submit details on your financial aid application. Bryn Mawr College is a need-sensitive institution due to its finite pool of resources. We would advise you to be transparent about your need on this application because international students will not be eligible for further financial aid application after they are admitted and enrolled.

Here are the actions that I would encourage you to take right now: submit your CSS profile and all pages of your Parent Financial Documents to Bryn Mawr College Financial Aid if you wish to apply for financial aid.

I’m also attaching here the link for some frequently asked questions (FAQs) that international students have regarding financial aid, and the official responses from the admissions office. Hope you’ll find this helpful.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I wish you the best of luck on your college application/decision process

Best,

Lisa (BMC class of 2020)

I have sent my CSS Proflie and my parents financial aid documents before the deadline. Thank you for your reply anyway!
