Anyone rejected from ALL summer programs they applied to?

Hi,
I'm planning to apply to PROMYS, SuMAC, and SSP.
I applied to PROMYS last year (sophomore yr), but I got rejected. I was wondering if there is a strong possibility that I could be rejected from all those three summer programs. It would suck, but has it happened to anyone?

Thanks.

It is very possible when you are applying only to highly selective programs.

im only applying to tasp. so yeah, in all likelihood

Given the competitivness of the programs listed, there is a high statistical probablity that you will be rejected by all three.

Always have a plan B, plan C etc. Sometimes C can turn out to be the best. My d's last choice, working in a hot sweaty kitchen for a summer, lead to working as a cook on a NOAA research vessel the next year - but she ended up doing all science and no cooking, but at full pay..

I've got a back up internship I did last year, so even if I get rejected from TASP, RSI, and MITES, I don't have to worry about trying to find a job in this economy. I'd rather do nothing or a summer program than work, even at a relatively fun internship like the one I did last year, but I don't like living in penury.

Always have at least plan B. I'm applying to MITES, but I'm also applying to JHU Summer University which is not as competitive.

I've worked at a summer camp for the past two years. It's very granola-y and focused on buying locally and organically produced things, etc.
Plus it's considered an internship and I get $250 (probably more this year) a week from it, so it's not so bad.
Assuming I get rejected from TASP, anyway.
