Anyone rejected from Liberal Arts outside of top 8%?

I know it’s one of the easier schools to get into, but it’s still UT… wondering if anyone that got rejected could post their stats. I’m thinking of applying to economics as Mccombs is just way out of reach, plus I’m starting to doubt finance as a major seeing as it’s in the top 5 jobs with highest suicide rates lol

My son was rejected from McCombs as 1st choice and Liberal Arts as 2nd choice and he is top 9% at competitive 6A HS. He had a 28 ACT as his highest score, and lots of extra-curricular and service hours. Not sure what happened, but he is going to be an Aggie as he was accepted into Engineering there. Good luck!

@DWitmer‌ A&M is a good school on its own right, I’m sure he will enjoy it. And as for what happened… I think UT inclines heavily toward your first choice major? Don’t take my word for it. Weird he didn’t get in though

And thanks! My rank won’t get any higher than 17% (as i’m already a junior) even if I get the best grades I can but I’m hoping 2100 SAT, 100+ hours community service, good leadership, varsity soccer and 3 fluent languages will get me into atleast liberal arts

I will probably shed a couple tears if I don’t
