I was waitlisted, and rejected from WashU last year. On the exact day when I found out I was waitlisted last year, I found out I am accepted this year. Eerie coincidence. Things are finally starting to work out!

Great new additions to this thread. And, modernage13, I'm going to copy your post to the "Bad hs record, college success" thread. As I think those stories are very important to readers of this forum.

I know this is not what the poster means by his title, but funny story nonetheless:

My friend's brother was accepted to Columbia and Harvard a few years ago. He rejected Harvard, only to find out that Columbia wouldn't take many of his transfer credits. A few weeks later, he called Harvard back and they gladly accepted him again. Only for him to find out sometime later that Harvard, too, would not accept many of his cred (doh.)

Mordenage, Im curious, did you get into rutgers?

anybody know if h.s. grades are imp. for transfer?? i slacked off 2nd semester of senior yr, but other than that, my h.s. grades are good. my college gpa is around 3.8. how important is the h.s. grades? i am not talking about ultra competitive schools like HYPS, but less competitive ones like NU, Georgetown, and UCLA, etc. Thanks.

Read Transfer Admissions 101. Anyway, it depends on (1) which school (2) how many college credits you will have earned... in most cases.
