Anyone rejecting Georgetown...?

I was just wondering if anyone will be rejecting Georgetown and, if so, which school did you apply for in the first place (perhaps SFS? ;)). Sorry, I know this sounds bad but I'm a waitlister and I just want to know if there's any chance at all. Also, does anyone know if you'll get some Financial Aid if you get accepted off the waitlist (fat chance that'll happen but just wanted to know..)?

Georgetown's kind of a useless school to remain on the waitlist at...it's almost impossible to get off. I hear that many many more people were waitlisted this year than last year, and last year no one was admitted off of the waitlist.

Honestly, I might not be going. I was accepted EA but have received a very generous scholarship at NYU, which, after visiting, I have learned fits like a glove. Unless GU provides beaucoup scholarships (which they aren't known for) I won't be attending.

Good Luck!

Well, love DC and Georgetown, but I think maybe for grad school will be better for me!. I have decided for Brown !! I will send my decision to them this week so that he waitlist moves faster!

Good luck to everyone!

i was accepted to the MSB, but i am goin to turn the offer down. I was accepted to Notre Dame EA and i love the place plus they offer me a full ride.

i hope this will free one spot up.

I was accepted to SFS and I may be turning it down in favor of Vassar or NYU. I'm EXTREMELY undecided at this point... thought about it for about four straight hours while I was putting away shoes at work and STILL made no headway! AUGH!

I was accepted to SFS EA as well. It is still far and away my #1 choice. But then i received my wonderful financial aid package at the gaap weekend. I got $1000/yr for scholarship, and no i didn't forget a zero. My EFC was between 30,000-35,000, and they are expecting my family to contribute 44,000. They were also generous enough to give me a 3,000 loan, and 3,000 in workstudy. They didn't take a couple of things into account, but I have a feeling they'll only raise my aid to like $5,000/yr, which still won't be enough. I had a blast at GAAP weekend, and they were constantly saying "we hope you choose Georgetown." They never gave me a choice. I'm hoping they give me more aid, but I expect to end up at UCLA next year.

VeronicaTheCynic - I can't imagine turning down G-town, and I am yet to hear about my finaid. But, I got into Columbia and received a great finaid package, and it's always been my first-choice, so I might have to turn G-town down. I applied to the College. Good luck!

i may well turn down georgetown because i got a full ride to furman which i also love... but its a tough choice

I'm turning down SFS for Stanford. I love Washington D.C., but the warm weather was enough to change my mind.

JennieH, I'm also torn between Furman and GU. Are you in-state?

i may for bu smed...but im visiting one more time

I'm turning down SFS for either Yale or a full ride to UVA. Probably UVA, though.

I'm in at the college, but if I did turn it down, it'd be for Duke.

I'm thinking of turning it down for Amherst, Swarthmore, or W&M but I really can't decide.

Update - I officially turned down SFS for Vassar.
