So have any of y'all finished rush or in the process of rushing now? Just want to know y'alls experience/

This is CC. We rush to the library

Our rush doesn’t start until after syllabus week.

where i’m at we rush second semester, but i wish more people would rush. come on people at least go to rush events

^I’d rather spend a month solid in the library than go to the sorority rush events at my school.

It’s the fraternities that have all the cool things at my school.

I rushed two organizations last Fall … received a bid for both … pledged for one … and then I quit.

I realized Greek life wasn’t for me. I was fine with that. But at least I can say that I rush’d at least once (twice) during my college years. =

Eh, I’ve been offered to, but I don’t think it’s the best thing for me. I don’t like having to conform to a single standard about being at the house, going to parties and whatnot. I like having my freedom, but for some people it’s great.

I had wanted to rush but it was too expensive to join and the girls in my hall who were all rushing were really obnoxious so it turned me off.

that sucks about the girls being obnoxious, and it isnt for some people so that is cool. but most fraternities wont make you conform and if they do it isnt the right one for you. you have to find the fraternity for you.

Lmao. Futurexecutive!

I will and i really want to join a sorority. A lot of my friends are in sororities at the school i’m going to and a lot will join this yr, including my roommate but the only thing that could stop me is the fee. My dad wont pay for it(he’s paying for my entire tuition and housing) so I’ll have to pay the sorority dues and fees on my own. I’m not complaining about that, but i don’t think i’ll work enough to pay for everything.

trust me i know what it is like. over the next 3 years my fraternity will cost me roughly 22 thousand dollars

… why?

dues, food, alcohol, rush fees, and housing upkeep

I’m possibly considering rushing, idk.

give the rush dates a shot, at least try, if you dont you dont know what you could miss

indeed, good sir

I’m not sure what frat to rush though :|

go to as many rush dates as possible, you want to find which fraternity matches up with you. you shouldn’t care about reputations of the fraternities, but rather the people you connect with in the fraternities. Also they are fraternities not frats, no one likes when their fraternity is called a frat. if you tell me which fraternities you have, i can tell you a little about them on the national level

[UM Councils and Chapters](http://www.greek.umd.edu/counc-chapt.htm)

I think Sigma Chi is one of the bigger ones on campus

sigma chi is a large fraternity throughout the usa. your school has every fraternity that my school does and a few more. on a national level, sigma chi, sigma nu, SAE, phi delta theta, Lambda chi alpha, are very popular and have good connections. just go and see what they guys are like and see if you connect with any of them.
