<p>I have Common App supplements to finish for three schools (NYU, BU, Syracuse). BU and Syracuse only have one essay and they’re basically the same “tell us why you’re special and why you we should accept you” type of essay (I might be able to use the same for both). NYU has creative short answer ones, and I might spend Christmas writing those (it’s ok, I’m jewish). These three are doing January 1st.</p>
<p>I recently decided that I might apply to a few other schools, but two of them don’t have any essays beyond the common app one, and the other is Georgia Tech, which doesn’t use the common app… and their essay seems like it’s going to take a while, but they’re a tech school and I hear they don’t really care about the essay anyway. These are due January 15th.</p>
<p>My dream school is CMU, and I’m still finishing my design project (I’m applying for Industrial Design). I submitted my app about a month ago. I need to submit the project January 15th if I decide to submit it online, or I can go in person and then it doesn’t have to be done until sometime in February (theoretically). </p>
<p>Other than CMU, I’m not sure why I’m applying to all those other schools. I was already accepted to a school that’s highly ranked in my intended area of study, but I guess that at this point I should submit the rest so I can keep my options open…</p>
<p>I know some people who are still working on apps (and possibly haven’t even started yet). Mostly people who applied ED and didn’t get in.</p>
<p>Yes, I’m still finishing my essays for George Washington University and Boston University. I could not complete my application for New York University as I would have liked, but I forgot to mention the school when my counselor sent out the rec’s through papper… she could not submit it online due to unable to have access in uploading transcripts. Though reading on cc NYU if accepted also would have been likely unfordable… definately will keep the school on my list for graduate school.</p>
<p>I have 2 left. A CommonApp and a major supplement that I’ll use as CommonApp for some schools. Like Millancad’s essays, they’re all but typed. I think I’m afraid to type them.</p>

<p>I have Why Columbia, which I will write tonight, as with my EC stuff.</p>
<p>Tomorrow I will type up and refine my U Chi Extended essay (wrote it out longhand over the weekend) and Why U Chi.</p>
<p>On the 27th I will write Why Yale and decide what to use for my second essay for Yale and Harvard among the ones I’ve already written. Then I have the Cornell/JHU “why this major” essay (which I’ve already written, essentially).</p>
<p>The 28th and the 29th are editing, editing, and more editing, and I will submit before I go to bed on the 29th.</p>
<p>Party/homework the rest of break.</p>
<p>Two weeks to do Macalester’s supplement (not that I’ll need that much time).</p>

<p>I was watching a video with an interview of Duke’s dean of admissions… he said a third of last year’s applicants submitted their apps a week or less before the deadline. I was surprised. Only a third?? Can you imagine 66% of high schoolers actually are disciplined and don’t procrastinate?!?</p>
